    Remember Ringback tones? Where you could pay money so when someone calls you, the caller hears a song instead of the standard carrier ring.

    It’s technology waiting to be exploited. Imagine every time you call someone and their phone rings you hear a 5 second ad. Multiple ads if they don’t pick up.

    Cory Doctorow once gave the hypothetical example of a phone company doing a deal with Domino’s so that every time you called a rival pizzeria, you got “press 1 to be connected to Domino’s or wait 30 seconds to be put through to the number you dialled”

    You wouldn’t download a car.

    Soon we’ll have to manually update the electric cars for a cost, then some pirates will be releasing custom builds for cars.
