      There would still be shitty political memes in shitpost, not a doubt in my mind. Lemmy, like reddit, can be used for propaganda, whether you agree or disagree with that propaganda.

    Half of these problems would be solved with a tagging system like on Reddit, then you could just block by tags

    I’m pretty sure PieFed rolled out a tagging system, but clients haven’t caught up yet

      That would depend on users following the tagging system. If Imgur is any indication, political posters will purposely not do that, because they think it’s their god-given mission to “spread awareness.”

        You’re so right, and they are utterly self-defeating. By attempting to force people to engage, they’re having the opposite effect. People are disengaging instead, and I don’t blame them. We need our spaces for silly humor.
